Keepit Regatta 2026

The Keepit Regatta is a fun, friendly and informal soaring event, limited to 30 gliders only.
In 2026 we return to the Regatta’s original mission:
✨ Supporting early cross-country pilots to fly further with confidence
✨ Helping experienced pilots sharpen their skills with coaching and friendly competition

📅 Dates

• Practice Day: Saturday 21 February 2026
• Regatta: Sunday 22 – Saturday 28 February 2026

✈️ Entries

• Maximum 30 gliders – first in, first served.
• Entry Fee: $180 per glider (includes first pilot)
• Additional pilots: $50 each
• Fee includes temporary membership of Lake Keepit Soaring Club.
• No discount for part attendance.

🛩️ Gliders

• Bring your own (current Form 2 and working Flarm mandatory).
• Or hire from the LKSC fleet (exclusive Regatta bookings, first come basis. Consider finding a fellow hirer(s) and share the glider when on a coaching flight).
• Available gliders include LS7, 2 x Discus B, Hornet, PW5, LS8, Twin Astir

• Dry event only. No water ballast permitted

🎓 Coaching Flights

• Priority: early cross-country pilots hiring a club glider.
• Then: first to register. Then experienced pilots wanting to lift their game.
• If seats remain → second coaching flights available.
• Costs: launch fees to the coached pilot’s account + possible coaching fee and discounted glider hire fee, yet to be confirmed. Coaches are donating their time and gliders for free. Express objective is to make the coaching as cost effective and accessible as possible. As a minimum it will be to cover the coach’s accommodation and dinner/drinks for that night plus a shared contribution to the cost of getting the gliders to the club. For that there is on ground coaching on weather and race strategy and then putting it all into practice in the air. You will not find a better value for money coaching experience on the planet!

🍽️ Catering & Socials

• Evening dinners: Sat 22 Feb – Sat 1 Mar

• Venues: Carroll Gap Farmhouse (with croquet!) or Clubhouse (including Tustra’s famous Paella).
• $30 per meal (main + dessert).
• Pre-commitment required for food purchase and planning.

• Clubhouse kitchen open for self-catering when dinner is at Carroll Gap. Clubhouse kitchen will not be available for self catering when meals are provided at the club.

• As always, evenings are full of flying stories (some are actually true) and always plenty of laughs!

✅ Pilot Requirements

• Current GFA membership
• Minimum Silver C
• Must attend the daily safety briefing

🚙 Retrieves & Hangars

• Crews encouraged, but plenty of help usually available. There will be a dedicated safety manager monitoring and coordinating retrieves.
• Hangar space with club members may be possible – contact the Manager.

💸 Refund Policy

• Cancel 14+ days before: full refund.
• Cancel within 14 days / during event: no refund.
• If cancelled due to towplane unavailability: full refund.
